<p>That's a bit of a glib answer, but you have not only the foreign economy to consider, but also exchange rates. A great economy but a weakening currency won't cut it.</p>

I've seen some very elaborate costumes that probably didn't cost much, but I know they took a lot of time.</p>
<p>This will date me, but I went as a Rubik's Cube. The costume was a box with construction paper taped on the sides. Probably cost all of 25 cents!</p>
<p>You can probably do a pretty good robot or tin man with a can of spray paint, a box, some flexible black drainage pipe, and a funnel.</p>
<p>Creativity goes a long way to making the whole thing cost less.</p>
